Barrington School District Volunteer Procedure

To ensure the safety and well-being of our students, we have updated our volunteer process. 


For the 2025-26 school year, all volunteers and chaperones will be required to complete a mandatory Fingerprint and Criminal Record Check as required by *RSA 189:13-a, School Employee and Volunteer Background Investigations, requires school districts to conduct a criminal history records check with the State of New Hampshire, including FBI national records on volunteers. 

Please complete the following steps to become a volunteer:


Visit https://services.dos.nh.gov/chri/cpo/ and select schedule a mandatory fingerprint and criminal record check.

  • Select "Schedule a New Appointment".
  • Schedule the location and time of your choosing and pay $21.25 online.
  • Please note:  indicate "School Volunteer NHRSA 189 13-A" as agency type and you want the records sent to BARRINGTON SAU OFFICE.

- OR -

Pick up a paper packet to fill out from the school or SAU offices.

  • Schedule a fingerprinting appointment with the Barrington Police Department.  Appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Return fingerprint card and check made out to State of NH Criminal Records in the amount of $20.00 to the SAU office.   
  •  The results of your Criminal Record check will be sent to the Superintendent who will review the report and determine whether or not you are authorized to volunteer. 
  • Her Administrative Assistant will contact you with the results.  If approved,  you may reach out to the school to set your schedule.
